I am a private voice and piano teacher who enjoys working with students with a wide range of ages, interests, and musical backgrounds. My private studio is based in NYC; I also teach remotely as an Affiliated Artist at Long Trail School in Dorset, VT.
I teach classically-based technique with an emphasis on music literacy and musicianship that provides a foundation to sing and play repertoire in many genres. Voice lessons are centered around healthy, unrestricted vocal technique that focuses on engaging the body and breath. Piano students are taught with a focus on sight-reading and effective practice habits that foster relaxed, consistent, and sensitive playing. All of my students are exposed to music theory, the solfège scale, and ear training that encourages independence and ultimately broadens their range of musical and expressive options.
